Matthew Chappell works as a backcountry ranger in Glacier National Park during the summer, as a wrangler and packer for an outfitter in the Bob Marshall Wilderness during the autumn, and as a farrier year-round in the Flathead Valley. He lives and writes in Columbia Falls.
